August 30, 2011

Dear Village Parents and Guardians,

Thank you to everyone for helping to make this school year start off well!  Our staff has commented on what an outstanding group of students are with us this year and we look forward to working with all of you throughout the coming months.

As a reminder, please do your best to help students arrive on time.  Classes start at 8:30 a.m. everyday and we are already having several students who have racked up a few tardies.  This means that they are not only missing valuable instruction time but could face other consequences such as lost signatures, schedule changes or worse.  If your student is not able to be at school, please call the attendance line (925/426-4260).  I will start making attendance calls starting August 30th now that student schedules have been finalized.

Back to School Night has been schedule for September 22, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.  I hope that everyone can make it to get a chance to see our program up close and personal.  Parents who are looking to get more involved with Village can join either the School Site Council or the Village Parent Group.  I will be discussing both of these at Back to School, but you can also go to our website to print out the volunteer form.

Last reminder for proof of TDAP vaccination and registration papers.  The absolute deadline is September 23rd so please get those proofs in or your student may get excluded from school!  Also, if you are missing registration forms we need those in the office by Friday, September 2, 2011.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns please contact me at ggiglio@pleasanton.k12.ca.us or 925/426-4260.  Thanks and see you at Back to School Night on September 22, 2011.
