Principal's Message
May/June 2007

It is a great pleasure to work with the extremely talented staff
here at
Pleasanton Middle School. Hiring the best and brightest staff,
for the purposes of providing our students with the greatest opportunities
for success, has always been a central focus of our site and district.
At this time each year, a few excellent and dedicated teachers
either retire or explore some other life experiences. This year,
I’d like to mention a few who are
leaving Pleasanton Middle after making extraordinary contributions
to our program.
Susan Faller-Mitchell, eighth grade language arts teacher extraordinaire,
is moving with her family to Central Oregon, where she plans to
continue teaching, perhaps at the elementary level. Thank you Susan,
for all of the efforts you made, especially in improving students’ writing,
working as a GATE specialist, advising our literary magazine, heading
the talent show, etc.
Sharon Curulla, an extremely talented member of our math department,
has decided to stay at home with her three young children, rather
than return from leave. Thank you Sharon, for reaching out to all
of those students who needed an extra push. All your students flourished
by way of your differentiated methods of explaining math concepts.
Math teacher, Jesse Kabat has decided to relocate to the Northwest.
We all know that Jesse will be successful wherever he teaches because
kids connect with him immediately. Besides that, he’s bright,
engaging, and works hard to help all of those around him, students
and staff, be successful.
To all of these fine individuals, a rousing Panther thank you!
We’ll miss you!
