2D Geomtery Activities

Here are some cool activites to make learning geometry fun!!!!

Old Mac Donald Using a certain amount of fencing, students try to make the largest possible rectangular pig pen that has four sides.

Old Mac Gerald Using a certain amount of fencing, students try to make the largest possible rectangular pig pen using only three sides (because the fourth side is a pre-existing fence.)

Cube Nets Using six tiles, students try to find all the different shapes that would form a cube when cut out and folded.

Design an Island Students "build" and island given certain parameters. Then they make a brocheure advertising the island.

Trapezoid Investigation An investigation in which students use grid paper to find the formula for the area of trapezoids.

Tiling the Floor Students work to determine the number of tiles needed to completely tile a classroom.
