Computers/6
Sixth graders learn terminology
and technology, networking, word processing, Hyperstudio and
PowerPoint. All classes look at the Internet and how it works,
as well as how to use it responsibly and appropriately. Students
will be using information and images from the Internet to create
reports.

Computers/7
The seventh grade classes will
be covering terminology and technology, word processing and Internet
searches. They will also be learning HTML and producing project-based
web sites. These web sites will be used to present projects and
reports in other curricular areas, such as science and history.

Computer Studies / 8
This class covers: terminology
and technology, networking, basic word processing, presentation
software (HyperStudio / PowerPoint), Internet searches and research,
and project-based web page design. New for the 2000-01 school
year: students will be working with Virtual Reality, creating
both panoramic and object VRs for use in web pages. Students
will also be producing web site reports and projects for science,
health and history classes.

Computer Applications / 8
This class is more application-driven
and skills oriented than Computer Studies. As in Computer Studies/8,
students will begin with an overview of basic terminology and
technology, and instruction in networking, creating passwords,
and password security. Students will also cover word processing/keyboarding
skills, Powerpoint, and Internet searches. Students will be using
HTML and designing project-based web sites
