Mohr School Conflict Managers are volunteers from third, fourth, and fifth grade who are trained to help students resolve disputes peacefully. They are available at recesses and in the classrooms to help teachers, too. Conflict Managers are a key part of our school climate and help students work with the TRIBES agreements. You can tell them by their bright yellow vests. |

Eco-Science Club- 4th and 5th grade students are invited to attend this club. The purpose of the club is to provide information and offer activities that emphasize the understanding of ecology and conservation of resources. Students are encouraged to act and interact as members of a global community concerned with “eco-relevant issues. Students assist in the recycling program on campus and work on outreach projects such as “Living Gifts – a program where old clay pots are refurbished, planted and given to local seniors. Games and other Earth Day activities are organized by the club to encourage student participation in Mohr’s celebration of Earth Day. |

The Safety Valet Program is designed for 5th grade students. This program enables them to be involved with our drop-off and pick-up of students at our school. They learn the responsibility of being on time for their assigned date and location. Greeting students and parents is a vital part of our school environment, along with the safety they provide. It is another way for the students to be involved with our Mohr "Community." |

Volunteers are a very important part in providing students with the best possible education. Parents, grandparents and community members are encouraged to volunteer. Volunteers are used around the school in many ways. All you need to do is decide what interests you, how much time you have to commit, and sign up! One way to volunteer is through your child's teacher to help in the classroom. Another way is through the PTA volunteer program. Volunteer sign-up sheets are available at school registration in August, and additional forms are also available in the school office. Volunteers need to sign in at the school office, log in your hours and wear a name badge while on school campus. Volunteer - Make a Difference! |

The School Site Council is an elected body of members with even parity between parent/community members and teacher/school personnel. The Council meets throughout the school year, reviews and approves school policies, and provides advice on other school projects as requested. The Site Council directs funding to support the growing need for technology, to purchase materials for the various curriculum areas, and to provide valuable staff development. The Council recommends, evaluates, and manages the School Improvement Plan (SIP), which provides for the special needs of all students. The Council annually establishes a new budget and makes modifications to the School Based Coordinated Program Plan (SBCP) as necessary. The election for council members and alternates occurs in September. Parent/community members serve a two year term. Meetings of the School Site Council will be the first Wednesday of each month at 4:00pm in the library. The first council meeting of the year is in October. All interested persons are welcome to attend the School Site Council meetings. |

The Mohr School Technology Committee was created to help guide our progress and growth in all areas of educational technology. Our group is comprised of parents and teachers; we meet monthly to determine the direction of our school's technology program and purchases. So far this year we have created a Five Year Technology Plan (link this to the plan) and surveyed parent needs as related to technology at Mohr. As a result of the survey, we offered two Family Math/Technology Nights, combining hands-on math activities with experiences using our math software and visiting related Web sites. The overwhelming demand encouraged us to add two more sessions in March. The Mohr School Technology committee is chaired by Janet Sears; it meets the third Thursday of every month at 7:00 in the computer lab. |

Aluminum Cans are collected bimonthly and recycled at the local station. Each classroom has a designated container for its cans. Classrooms get to keep the money they earned by recycling. The money is used for special activities or resources for the class. Many thanks to the parents who carry out this important job. |
