Pleasanton Unified School District: Local Funding

Local funding measure

The PUSD Board of Trustees has voted unanimously to place a measure before Pleasanton voters for approval of a $98 per parcel tax to do the following:

Emphasize core academic instruction that improves math, science and reading skills;
Attract and retain highly-qualified teachers;
Support specialized science and reading instruction;
Keep school libraries open and maintain library services and materials; and
Minimize class size increases.

The election will be conducted by mail-in ballot (due May 3), and the measure will need approval by 2/3 of the voters to pass.

A copy of the final resolution is available here. Other information is available by clicking on the Local Funding link on the left.

Local funding measure--Senior and SSI Exemption forms
The proposed local funding measure (Measure E) that will be before voters on a mail-in ballot (due May 3) includes a provision for an exemption for seniors and those who receive SSI for a disability.

An exemption application from a qualified applicant will provide an exemption for that tax year only.  However, qualified applicants will not be required to resubmit their exemption application for future tax years provided 1) the property was exempt in the immediately previous tax year, and 2) they continue to own and occupy the property.  On an annual basis, the District will verify and renew existing exemptions and, if necessary, confirm with the original applicant that they continue to own and occupy the property.

Click here for the Senior Exemption form.

Please click here for the SSI Exemption form.

Forms that have already been filed with the district are still valid and will qualify for the automatic renewal.
