About Our School

“My first impression when I came to Horizon for the first time was when I saw all the girls. First I felt nervous and was afraid some of them wouldn’t like me. But when I met the other students, I realized I knew some of them from my previous school. The counselor, Colleen, took me to see the baby and toddler day care center and then she introduced me to the teachers and staff. They were all really nice. I don’t think I will ever forget my first day at Horizon. I now feel very good about my school work and my English is improving. I am also learning how to take care of my baby.”

“I was really shy on my first day of school. I didn’t know if I was going to know any of the girls here or if they were going to be nice to me. I knew some of the girls and the others I met were really friendly. The teachers were really great and even the lunch lady was nice to me. Everyone helps you with whatever you need. Horizon is a good school to be at if you want help taking care of your baby while you are trying to graduate from high school.”

“I am a guy and wasn’t sure I’d like coming to a school where mostly girls are attending. My girlfriend really wanted me to come to school with her and our daughter so I decided to give it a try. A bus picks us up and drops us off at our house which is really nice because it is hard taking the public bus with the baby, stroller, diaper bag and stuff. I am learning how to be a better father because I learn from the parenting classes here at Horizon and from watching the other parents with their babies. Coming to Horizon was a good decision for me.”
