The Cubby Chronicle is the Donlon community newsletter. In the Chronicle are stories about school happenings and stories of interest to the community as a whole.
Deadlines
The Deadline for the first cubby of the school year will be Thursday, September 9th with a distribution date of Wednesday, September 29th. It takes a couple of days to compile it and get approval from Mr. Schweitzer and graphics requests a 10 day turn around. The goal is to have the cubby distributed in the either the last or first Wednesday envelope of the month depending on how the dates fall. Cubby deadlines are always listed in the previous months cubby.
Types of Articles
I encourage articles related to school events, student and/or teacher successes, poems from students, student government progress, election info, etc.. Please feel free to submit anything you find interesting that can be shared with the families at Donlon. Student and class submissions are welcome. Please submit calendar items for the next few months—at least two months of events are published in each issue.
Writing Articles
Use minimal formatting. Go light on exclamation marks, etc.. Use word wrap, otherwise all returns need to be edited out and that leaves room for text to accidentally get cut. Please use Microsoft Word. Please don't use funky fonts - Arial or Times New Roman is preferred. Be concise—bullets, short blurbs, are good. If you're submitting something that repeats quite a few times during the year, try to make it short and sweet so people will read it.
