Individual Differentiation Plan (IDP) State Law (AB2313 effective January 1, 2001) requires that services for gifted and talented students be integrated into the regular school day. In Pleasanton Unified, all GATE identified students in grades four and five are clustered according to grade level and instructed in self-contained classrooms that also include non-GATE identified students with one teacher who is responsible for this integration. Each GATE student has the opportunity to have an Individual Differentiation Plan (IDP). The IDP is intended to provide a written agreement and documentation of differentiated learning opportunities for GATE students. The responsibility for implementing the IDP rests with the classroom teacher who works with the student (and may collaborate with the parent). The first trimester IDP will be reviewed by the teacher at the fall parent conference. The second and third trimester copies will be sent home with the progress report. Note: The actual size of the IDP is 8.5 by 14. Click to download the IDP form. Click to download Topics + Products for Extended Learning and Enrichment Opportunities.
