District Goals 2011-12

STUDENT LEARNING
Our Commitments:

1. All PUSD students will have access to and be engaged in rigorous curriculum and the necessary support to be college and career ready upon graduation.
2. We will maximize every child’s potential to succeed in order to close the achievement gap.
3. We will use data driven decision making and consistent progress monitoring.
4. We will foster positive and nurturing relationships with ALL students and their families.

SAFE SCHOOLS
Our Commitments:

1. Students in the Pleasanton Unified School District will be provided a safe environment in order to learn and to become productive and socially responsible citizens.
2. School and District practices will reflect fair and equitable outcomes when correcting student behavior, ensuring the least    restrictive consequence when dealing with student behavior.

COMMUNICATIONS
Our Commitments:

1. PUSD will improve communication practices to effectively promote awareness, understanding and involvement within the entire community.
2. PUSD will increase outreach mechanisms to identify underserved families in order to provide resources and support.
3. PUSD will increase the awareness of the Pleasanton community in relation to PUSD core values, educational programs and District finances. 

BUDGET
Our Commitments:

1. We will align resources to ensure equitable outcomes for underserved populations, while continuing to provide high quality programs for ALL students.
2. We will work in partnership with bargaining units to seek solutions to the budget crisis.
3. We will align and prioritize district and school site spending decisions with Student Achievement goals.
