Amador Valley High School….A Great Place for Kids!

On behalf of all our students and staff, I would like to welcome you to the Amador Valley High School Community. We are excited to begin the 2009-2010 school year. This year we are proud to announce that during the spring, Newsweek magazine has once again recognized Amador Valley as one of the top high schools in the nation.

Amador Valley High School will be celebrating our annual “Back to School Night” on Wednesday, September 16th.  Our celebration will begin at 6:30 PM in the large gym.  We are looking forward to an exciting evening filled with many opportunities for you to visit our award winning classrooms and programs.

In the spring our students took a record 1335 Advanced Placement examinations in 23 subjects.  Advanced Placement students scoring a 3 or above are considered to have passed the Advanced Placement examination.  90% of our students recorded a passing grade on these rigorous tests with the students in English Literature and Human Geography receiving 100% passage rates.

Everyone at Amador Valley is committed to meeting the individual needs of all our students, while providing a “World Class” educational program.  We have many exciting programs and activities planned for the upcoming school year.  Please encourage your son or daughter to take advantage of these opportunities and become as fully involved as possible while attending Amador Valley.

As the warm weather continues, I would to ask for your help in reminding your student of the dress code at Amador Valley High School.  The dress code for students was established to “promote a positive and safe learning environment conducive to high academic and behavior standards.”  Please take a moment and discuss with your student the importance of appropriate dress at school.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at your earliest convenience.

Best Wishes,

Bill Coupe
