Amador Valley High School is a suburban, comprehensive, four year high school serving approximately 2600 students. It is one of three high schools in the Pleasanton Unified School District. Located forty miles southeast of San Francisco. The city of Pleasanton has a population of approximately 64,000 and has experienced considerable growth over the last decade in its residential and business base.Its rich history spans over 80 years of service to the community of Pleasanton. It has achieved National recognition in Academics, Athletics, and Extra / Co-Curricular Programs. Amador has been recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School, No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon School, National School of Character, California Distinguished High School, California Digital High School, and a California Golden Bell Award Winner.Amador boasts an intructional program which strives to meet the needs of the students. Numerous Advanced Placement, Honors, Career Pathway, ROP, ELD, and Special Education opportunities are offered.Our AVID program has made us a National Demonstration School.

Amadors colors are Purple & Gold. Our mascot is the DON. Our school motto is "Working Together To Make A Difference", which is painted in huge letters on the wall of one of Amador's buildings.

Recent rennovations along with Digital High School Grant money has created an exemplary learning environment for Amador students. Two state of the art multimedia computers reside in every classoorm with many classrooms being equipped with 5 or more machines. Seven computer labs, four mobile laptop computer carts, and a student laptop program provides Amador students with numerous opportunities to enhance their technological skills.

Amador is blessed with outstanding Parental support that helps to maintain the high academic standards and abundant gowth opportunities available here at AVHS. Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA), Amador Friends of Music, and the Amador Athletic Boosters continue to provide money and resources that helped to establish and maintain nationally recognized curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular programs.

Amador also benefits from extensive community involvement from businesses and community groups. Pleasanton Partners in Education (PPIE) and the Tri Valley Education Collaborative continue to donate both time and money to facilitate collaboration between the educational and business communities in Pleasanton. Many of Amadors students receive internships at local businesses and research facilities.
