MULTI-LINGUAL RECOGNITION SEAL:  Applications are available in the counseling office for graduating seniors.  It was due May 1 and the date has been extended until May 8.

OPEN GYM FOR GIRLS VOLLEYBALL:  There will be open gym for girls’ volleyball from May 14 until June 6.  It

will be from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM.  It will be held on Monday’s and Wednesday’s.

²Arthritis Foundation: now accepting applications for our 2012 Summer Science Internship Program.  This program places 12 outstanding students in leading rheumatology/immunology laboratories at the University California, San Francisco and Stanford University. Job Opportunities:

² There are a very few summer job opportunities that are arriving in the Career Center. Tutors are still needed ~ especially for some middle school students. Come on in to get details !

² Work permit applications are down-loadable at http://www.dir.ca.gov/dlse/dlseformb1-1.pdf  Completed applications, Social Security cards and proof of birth (passport, birth certificate, drivers license) will be processed at the District Adult Education Office, 215 Abbie Street from 8 – 4:30

Seniors ~ Keep your grades up ! Colleges reserve the right to withdraw admission if you don’t follow through on your end.

Juniors ~ Keep your grades up ! Narrow down your college choices from 15 to 8; focus on details and differences; what do YOU want? Visit as many campuses as you can to help you decide.

Sophomores ~ Keep your grades up: This year counts!  Attend college fairs and preview days; it’s never too early!

Freshmen ~ Start thinking about possible career paths; take an interest inventory to get some ideas. This can help you plan your high school choices.

 

FILIPINO AMERICANS OF PLEASANTON (FAP): The Filipino Americans of Pleasanton (FAP) is offering a scholarship of $500 to a graduating senior. FAP proudly offers this award as a sign of their organization’s continued support of our students in their pursuit of higher education.  Applications are now available in the counseling office.  The due date is on May 4, 2012

 

HELP FOR THE SPRING SCIENCE EXTRAVAGANZA: The Spring Science Extravaganza is coming up soon! We are looking for 1,000 CDs for a project the little kids will be working on. If you have some old CDs at home and can donate them to the Spring Science Extravaganza please bring them, as soon as possible, to room D1 - or give them to ANY SCIENCE TEACHER. You will not get the CDs back! The younger students will recycle them into cool hovercrafts.
